Slovakia implementing new e-invoicing system – “Informačný Systém Elektronickej Fakturácie (“IS EFA”)

Slovakia is set to join countries implementing e-invoicing. E-invoicing will be effective from January 2022, but will be implemented in a phased manner as below:

• From January 2022, E-invoicing will be implemented for Business-to-Government (“B2G”), Government-to-Government (“G2G”) and Government-to-Business (“G2B”) forms of business.
• From January 2023, E-invoicing will be implemented for Business-to-Business (“B2B”), Business-to-Consumer (“B2C”) and Government to consumer Services (“G2C”).

Implication:

Businesses will need to revise their processes to enable compliance with the new e-invoicing regulations.
